Degree Requirements and Rules The students studying in this Ph.D program are required:
to take a minimum of 7 courses with a minimum of 21 local credits
to pass the qualifying examination,
to prepare and defend a doctoral dissertation
to succeed in all the courses with a letter grade of at least CB/S
to have a Cumulative Grade Point Average of at least 2.50/4.00 with a minimum of 240 ECTS credits.

Program Outcomes

1-The student must have knowledge about the relationship between genetics and medical sciences, gene and genome structure, structure and functions of nucleic acids.
2-The student must have knowledge about chromosome structure and analysis, chromosomal abnormalities, single gene and multifactorial diseases.
3-The student can describe the basic application areas of Medical Genetics
4-The student must publish an original study in the field of Medical Genetics in international peer-reviewed journals and contribute to the expansion of the knowledge in the field.
5-The student can analyze and criticize the knowledge obtained through doing investigations in the field of Medical Genetics
6-The student follows the ethical and legal rules and regulations in the field of Medical Genetics.
7-The student can evaluate a problem in Medical Genetics independently, find a solution, analyze the results and apply them if necessary.
8-The student can use the knowledge and the ability to solve problems gained from the studies in Medical Genetics in interdisciplinary areas.
9-The student can synthesize and analyze complicated new ideas in the field of Medical Genetics.
10-The student can independently design, perform and finalize a research in Medical Genetics.
11-The student can effectively communicate in the Medical Genetics field.
